Dr. Cecilia Mendoza, the first cataract surgeon at the Bracamonte Hospital in Potosí, Bolivia, at 4000m altitude.

Vision Mundi, in collaboration with the pharmaceutical laboratory Angelini, sponsored Dr. Cecilia Mendoza from 2013 to 2016. Thanks to this collaboration, she was able to complete her ophthalmology specialization at Fundación Visión in Paraguay.

After finishing her studies, she began working at the Bracamonte Hospital in Potosí, located at 4000m altitude. Cecilia performed the first cataract surgery ever carried out in a public hospital in the Potosí region. She is currently also in charge of the child blindness unit for retinopathy of prematurity in this area.
